Greetings all! Can you believe that we are almost done with 2021? I feel like I’m still processing 2020…
But with a new year comes new experiences! And we are so ready to tackle 2022!
As you might know, we host our Annual Meeting for the Historical Society every February. And every year, we like to invite a guest speaker to host a wonderful program. Then we get through all of the reports, elections of new board members, and the other “boring stuff”.
This year, we are inviting Babara Bauer, who wrote the fantastic book “Treasure Valley’s Electric Railway”, which talks all about our very own trolley that used to circle the valley back in the early 1900s. Here’s a little snippet of the book’s summary for you:
A boom in the early 20th century was due in part to the electric railway, a modern transportation system linking Boise to the communities of Meridian, Eagle, Nampa, Caldwell, and Middleton. The electric railway era lasted from 1891 to 1928 and supported the growth of neighborhoods and communities, inspired the creation of local parks, and provided recreation and entertainment opportunities to rural and urban residents.

How crazy exciting is that? With that being said, we invite all of YOU to meet us in the Trolley Station in Middleton on February, 12th, 2022 at 2:00 PM. Refreshments will be provided, and our annual meeting will follow afterward.
A great article. Well written, interesting and informative.
