How the gold rush affected Idaho

How much do you know about the Gold Rush? In 1849, the Gold Rush began in California but quickly spread to other states. In 1862, gold was discovered in the Boise Basin and the town of Idaho City was built. To say that it became a boomtown is a little bit of an understatement. It quickly became the most populated city in the Northwest. Gold was also discovered near present-day Pierce, Idaho in 1860.
